American Staffordshire Terrier is a very muscular, stocky, agile dog,
and extremely strong for its size. The Am Staff has a broad, powerful
head, and very strong jaws. It is outgoing, stable, and confident. Good
natured around people, and an extremely loyal and affectionate family
pet. This breed lives for pleasing his master. Careful and selective
breeding has produced a friendly, trustworthy dog who is very good with
children. The Am Staff is highly protective of its owner and property,
which means he is a courageous and persistent fighter if provoked. This
breed needs to be highly socialized, as dog aggression can be an issue.
American Staffordshire Terriers are not for the passive owner who does
not understand pack order.
